Welcome to the homepage of the Hardwick Lab! Research in our laboratory focuses on mitosis, and a dissection of the mechanism of action of the spindle checkpoint. Fission yeast is our model organism, which is extremely well suited for testing models of spindle checkpoint action. We employ a combination of techniques including classical biochemistry, in vitro reconstitution, molecular genetics, live-cell fluorescent imaging microscopy including FRAP, and synthetic biology.
Our research group is part of the Institute of Cell Biology at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK. If you would like to contact us please follow the corresponding link from the menu at the top. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy your stay on our web site.
